Description:-

Carapace broader than long; dorsal surface ridged or granulose. Presence of coarse flattened tubercles over the carapace giving a mosaic appearance. Front bilobed, project beyond the orbit, broadly open dorsally. Carapace dorsally with fine granules; punctuate. Posterior part of antero lateral boarder of carapace with two rounded lobes; postero- lateral boarder nearly straight or slightly concave. Chelipeds granulated. A stout spine on inner angle of carpus of cheliped. Palm without a crest on superior margin. Pereiopods laterally flattened and with crests on anterior and posterior margins. Carapace with regions not inflated; supra-orbital internal angle not noticeably projecting. Ventral region of the body finely granular and punctuate. Reddish brown in colour.

Bijukumar et al. (2007) and Sushilkumar (2013) recorded it from the trawl by-catch along Kerala coast.
