Description:-

Carapace much broader than long and are smooth. The antero-lateral margin of carapace carinated. Front slightly advanced towards the middle portion. Carapace, chelipeds and pereiopods smooth. Epibranchial angle of carapace never has a tooth. Crest of antero-lateral margin continuous with postero-lateral margin. Eyes are seen inside the orbit. The surface of carapace marked by large, compact punctations that are almost juxtaposed here and there but obliterated on the posterior part. The crest of antero-lateral margins of carapace are continued to the epibranchial angle by a short crest and it gradually disappears along the postero-lateral margins. Chelipeds unequal in size; crest on the superior margin of the palm clearly defined and generally protruding. Pereiopods dorso-ventrally flattened and their inner and outer borders carinated. Dactylus of the pereiopods end in an acuminate spine. Presence of a tuff of hair on the hind end of the posterior margin of pereiopods; dactylus marginally bears spiny hairs. Brick red colour over the body with the fingers of chelipeds and spine on the dactylus of pereiopods darkish in colour with whitish tip and teeth.
