Description:-

Shell medium sized, upto 28 mm in length, elongate, slender, smooth and highly polished, spire elevated; apex pointed; sutures heavily calloused leaving fine impressions columella slightly twisted in the middle with deep furrow; aperture narrow and elongated further narrowing posteriorly. shells whitish or rusty brown, Shell ivory white in colour tinted with bright orange brown or rusty brown about the spire and apex

Commercially used in the preparation of necklaces and other ornaments or curios Bijukumar (2012) and Chakravarty et al (2005) recorded the presence of this species from Kerala coast

Habitat:-

Coastal from intertidal zone to about 20m depth.
