Brownish purple coloured specimen. Test globular. Cylindrical, large, heavy, massive, primary spines with blunt, rounded tips. Short secondary spines with flattened and slightly trilobed tips. Primary ambulacral tubercles abrubtly smaller above the ambitus and the spines truncated like the secondary spines. Each interambulacral plate with a llarge primary tubercle encircled with miliary tubercles. Below the ambitus to the oral field only primary tubercle present on each plate. Tridentate pedicellariae with narrow valves meeting only at the tip. Aboral spines shorter. Ten pore pairs in each arc at the ambitus. Lantern well developed with paired rod-like epiphyses bridging across the splayed upper ends of the pyramids.

This species is reported from Vizhinjam coast, Kerala by Jayakumari (2004) and James (2007).
