Description:-

Body with 75-130 segments, 30-120 mm long. Prostomium a blunt cone with a row of 4-8 large, black eyes on each side, sometimes meeting in mid-line. Two to eight grooved tentacles on anterior edge of chaetiger 1 on each side, sometimes meeting in mid-line. Gills similar size to tentacles, from chaetiger 1 almost to tail end. Stout, bluntly pointed chaetae ventrally from chaetiger 10 to 12 and dorsally from 20 to 23. Orange, pinkish or brownish red; tentacles and gills red or yellow.
