Description:-

The lorica of this species is oval and slightly hexagonal in a dorsal aspect. Lorica divided into dorsal and ventral plates. Dorsal plate with pattern of cuticular ridges, moderately compressed dorso-ventrally. Antero-dorsal margin with two median spines flanking a V-shaped notch. Two small spines divided by a rounded indentation are present in the anteromedian region Lateral and intermediate spines usually obliterated, intermediate spines may be present in some.. Anterolateral spines are absent or highly reduced. Posterior spines are short or absent. The general surface is roughened with angular ridges. Total body length: 90 - 200 µm. Body width: 70 - 150 µm. Distance between anterolateral spines: 55-95 µm. Mental margin rigid, somewhat elevated with a shallow median notch. Foot opening rather large, somewhat variable in shape. Larger foot aperture in ventral plate flanked by cuticular protuberances. Posterior spines absent.
